Back At It

After spending most of the work day yesterday in my fluffy North Face jacket, I have decided that I am over winter.

The above picture accurately conveys my sassy attitude yesterday– cold weather makes me less productive. Despite my attempt to will in the warmer temperatures, mother nature rebelled.


Yikes! But I will not let that ruin my day for two reasons.

One— I started my day off with a lovely breakfast.

I am loving my overnight oats lately and have tweaked the recipe a bit.

Modified Overnight Oats:

  • 2/3 cup of oats
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon of chia seeds
  • 1 spoonful of peanut butter
  • 1 small packet of splenda

Two— I am getting back into the gym today. A 5k sounds like a good idea. I haven’t been in the gym since Friday, and I probably needed the break. I think I was starting to get burnt out on going to the gym 5 days a week by myself. I am always on the look out to switch things up, which leads reminds me.

On Friday, April 4th, I was able to cross off one of my 13 in 2013 goals— attend a real yoga class (and not just a yoga DVD). And.. I absolutely loved it. Did I leave with a good post-gym sweat? No. However, I was sore the next day. I know that yoga is nothing new to most health nuts, but I am always late to jump on to band wagons anyway. I think I will start incorporating the class into my usual Friday morning routine.
